Poloroid

Every so often my cousin Myra and I go to 2nd hand stores to see what sort of vintage throwbacks we can find. This time we decided to browse through the electronics section at GoodWill and found decent Poloroid cameras for sale. Trying to figure out how it worked automatically brought back feelings of nostalgia. It brought back memories of my Uncle Rocky who would photograph us with his Poloroid when we were kids. Uncle Rocky always had the newest and dopest electronics.

We ended up each buying a camera for roughly 5 bucks not knowing if they work since we didn’t have any film. We went to KITS camera to see if they carry Poloroid 600 Film, only to find that Poloroid discontinued this type of film. Searched the internet and the film does not come cheap; 1 pack (10 photos) = roughly 10 bucks on ebay.

I posted a wanted classified ad at work (healthcare is filled with baby boomers who don’t know how to work a digital camera) to see if anyone had any lying around. Within a week of my posting, I received a call from a nice lady in administration who not only had 3 packs of Poloroid 600 Film, but was also willing to give me her Poloroid camera for free.

I’m off to Hawaii in 2 hours. I can’t wait to see what types of shots I can take during my trip.
